Ethan Story, a third grade student in Becki Stratton's class, recently brought hands on fun to Science class. Story brought baby chicks he raised to show the class. He shared with the class about the incubation period of chicks and explained how his family used an incubator and has to turn the eggs several times a day. Raising chicks has taught him responsibility and a sense of pride. Students enjoyed petting the chicks and hearing Ethan's explanation about their care.

Academics and Citizenship Emphasized
in F.E.S. Classrooms

Students in Missy Jones' second grade class learned an important lesson about kindness.  Just as toothpaste, once squeezed out of the tube cannot be put back; unkind words can never be taken back.  The lesson focused on how responsible citizens treat one another with respect.  Pictured are Drake Taylor, Halie Sanderson, Breece Mohon, and Jacob Kell trying to use toothpicks to put toothpaste back into the tube. Teachers and staff started the school year with high expectations for academics and citizenship.
